Freezing Account

Freezing Account (Locking) is a powerful security feature of W3Smart Wallet.

When do users need to freeze their accounts?

In case the wallet’s owner suspects his account (i.e. device) is compromised (lost, stolen, …), he can use the Freezing Account feature to immediately lock the wallet to protect his assets.

When a user locks a wallet, he has a chance to get a new device and recover his wallet.

A locked wallet cannot:

  • Transact
  • Add a guardian
  • Add/Remove a whitelist’s participant

A locked wallet still can :

  • Perform Recovery procedure
  • Perform Unlock procedure
  • Remove a guardian (by directly interacting with smart contracts)
